Mount Baker Engagement Session

Susie and Shawn’s engagement session was nothing short of magical! The mountain was showing off, the weather was perfect for this photography session. They are such an adorable couple, and did you know that Susie is a photography teacher in middle school! Yikes! Middle school is rough but she smiles and loves her students. Shawn even proposed after her graduation when all the cameras were out, what a smart guy!

For this Engagement session we wandered through the gorgeous alpine meadows of Mount Baker, and let me be clear, we stayed on the path and were respectful of this critical enviornment. I saw PLENTY of people going off trail for that “instagram perfect” picture and the environmentalist in me wanted to yell at them, but then the side of me remembered, I didn’t know how critical this area is until I did some more research and I gave grace instead of a lecture. Please, if there are signs to stay off or stay out, it is for a good reason. We don’t want to have to pay $300 a day for permits or worse, not be able to enjoy this land at all. Be like Susie and Shawn, find a responsible photographer who knows how to get the shots without trampling through this critical area.
